Charcoal & Chalk Supplies

Supplies:

--- Paper 12”x18” Buff or Manilla coloured drawing paper (or other colours)
--- White Chalk (standard chalkboard chalk or chalk pastel)
--- Charcoal – (standard medium willow charcoal is the best about a 4 or 5 cm long piece per student.- or black chalk pastel)
--- Erasers - (kneaded erasers (gray plastic wrapped rectangles when new… ugly gray lumps in the usable form! Fabulous for charcoal!), white vinyl erasers or pinks, whatever is available)
--- Paper Towel – one per student (plus some extra)
--- Pencils (occasionally)

Classroom set up:
• I will need an open floor area to gather everyone for a short demonstration and then we’ll be working at the desks/tables. No table needed for the demonstration… I’ll bring my workbox to allow everyone a good view!
• Please get everyone to clear desks (except for things they’ll need.) We’ll have more art time!
• A flip-chart page is the best option for the directed drawing part of this lesson. It allows me to use colour & shading. I can also do the lesson using the chalkboard or whiteboard.
