Oil Pastel Supplies

Supplies:

Please gather:
--- Paper 9”x12” or 12"x18" construction paper (any colours)
--- Pencils & Erasers – standard pencils for light coloured papers or white pencil crayon or white wax crayon for sketching on dark coloured papers.
--- Oil Pastels (enough to share – please check boxes to make sure a good selection of colours will be available for each student.)
--- Paper Towels (for fingers) – optional

Special Notes: Please be aware that 'soft pastels' or 'chalk pastels' are NOT the same as 'oil pastels' - lessons requiring oil pastels will not be successful using chalk pastels.

WHITE & BLACK pastels are always the first to go!  Once these important shading colours are gone it's time to update your pastels!

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call me!

Classroom set up:
• I will need an open floor area to gather everyone for a short demonstration and then we’ll be working at the desks/tables. No table needed for the demonstration… I’ll bring my workbox to allow everyone a good view!
• Please get everyone to clear desks (except for things they’ll need.) We’ll have more art time!
• A flip-chart page is the best option for the directed drawing part of this lesson. It allows me to use colour & shading. I can also do the lesson using the chalkboard or whiteboard.
