Sculpture Supplies

Supplies:

--- Modeling Medium (Clay, Air-dry Clay or Plastiscene)
(Click here for a page describing the various sculpture mediums)

--- Non-stick desk cover - Paper, wood, cardboard or fabric as a work surface to prevent sticking – sturdy scrap paper (ie: brown craft paper) or a piece of cardboard will do fine! No newsprint or wax paper, please… they fall apart when wet. ( If you have chosen masks or boxes, please tape the cover over the entire desk surface so we can successfully roll out clay slabs.)
(Desk covers are optional for Animals, Dragons or Fish but clean-up will take longer without them. )

--- Paper Towels (for fingers & clean-up)
--- Water (sink access)

--- Tools (I will bring rolling pins, water pots & basic tools.)

  Special Notes:
You will need a safe, newprint covered place for your projects to dry SLOWLY... not on a heater or in a window. Drying slowly prevents cracking. You may wish to cover the projects loosely with plastic for the first few days.

Firings are not included.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call me!

Classroom set up:
• I will need an open floor area to gather everyone for a short demonstration and then we’ll be working at the desks/tables. No table needed for the demonstration… I’ll bring my workbox to allow everyone a good view!
• Please get everyone to clear desks (except for things they’ll need.) We’ll have more art time!
• I will need a counter or table area where I can cut the clay and prepare for the workshop.
